Golf course at Royal Óbidos opens in soft-opening on November 1st, 2011

The Portuguese Golf Federation (PGF) concluded the process of approval and classification of the golf course at Royal Óbidos Spa & Golf Resort. The soft-opening for the resort is scheduled for November 1, and will officially be opening to the public on January 2nd, 2012. With 18 holes designed by Severiano Ballesteros, the golf course occupies a total area of 160 acres overlooking the Obidos Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean. During the soft-opening opening on November 1, the golf course will also open a clubhouse, creating 38 jobs divided between the maintenance and management of golf services as well as the restaurants. To market the resort in target markets, agreements with about 500 international tour operators and DMC's national entity have been made as the course is ready to host professional and amateur golfing events
