Irish golfer Christy O'Connor Jnr has won tournaments 17 times in 7 different countries including two Senior British Open Championships back to back. The second edition of the Portugal Golf Show will take place May 22-24 at the Lisbon Congress Centre. The inaugural event in 2008 attracted more than 70 exhibitors and some 6,000 visitors. The Portugal Golf Show features a pro-am tournament and a series of conferences and seminars. Portugal has over 70 courses nationwide, with 15 more currently being built.

The five-star Tivoli Victoria hotel opened in March 2009 in the up-market beach resort of Vilamoura on Portugal’s southern coast. Built on the new Victoria golf course designed by legendary golfer and architect Arnold Palmer, the hotel’s signature feature is a panoramic view of the fairways. The Victoria has 280 guest-rooms, including a presidential suite, two executive suites and fourteen junior suites. On-site are the Elements Spa by Banyan Tree, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ample meeting space and a large ballroom. The hotel also features two high-end restaurants and three bars. Golf and spa packages are available, including the one-night Experience for Two, which offers two late afternoon drinks and breakfast with a garden view. For the fourth time in its history Oitavos Dunes will stage Portugal Golf Open.The Arthur Hills-designed course, situated in Cascais on the outskirts of Lisbon, was opened in 2001.This coastal layout is dotted with sand dunes, and has a number of holes running close to the Atlantic Ocean which gives the venue a links-feel.
