Irish golfer Christy O'Connor Jnr has won tournaments 17 times in 7 different countries including two Senior British Open Championships back to back. Now he has introduced his own range of wines, the Christy O'Connor Jnr SELECTION with the Herdade das Servas vineyard in the Alentejo, and Celebrity Wines, a distributor of golf professional endorsed wines for globally recognized brands such as Gary Player, Arnold Palmer, Nick Faldo, Retief Goosen, John Daly and David Frost The first offering includes the Christy O'Connor Jnr - 'Selection' - in both red & white. The Selection Red is a blend of some of the varietals Aragones, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Selection White is a blend of Roupeiro and Arinto, is a beautiful light citrus color. The second edition of the Portugal Golf Show will take place May 22-24 at the Lisbon Congress Centre. The inaugural event in 2008 attracted more than 70 exhibitors and some 6,000 visitors. The Portugal Golf Show features a pro-am tournament and a series of conferences and seminars. Portugal has over 70 courses nationwide, with 15 more currently being built.

The Monte Rei Golf Club in the Algarve city of Tavira has made the Golf Digest 2009-2010 World's Greatest Golf List. Tivoli Victoria luxury hotel opens

The five-star Tivoli Victoria hotel opened in March 2009 in the up-market beach resort of Vilamoura on Portugal’s southern coast. Built on the new Victoria golf course designed by legendary golfer and architect Arnold Palmer, the hotel’s signature feature is a panoramic view of the fairways.  The Victoria has 280 guest-rooms, including a presidential suite, two executive suites and fourteen junior suites. On-site are the Elements Spa by Banyan Tree, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, ample meeting space and a large ballroom. The hotel also features two high-end restaurants and three bars. Golf and spa packages are available, including the one-night Experience for Two, which offers two late afternoon drinks and breakfast with a garden view. One half of the couple receives a 90-minute massage at the Elements spa while the other enjoys a round of golf.

For the fourth time in its history Oitavos Dunes will stage Portugal Golf Open.The Arthur Hills-designed course, situated in Cascais on the outskirts of Lisbon, was opened in 2001.This coastal layout is dotted with sand dunes, and has a number of holes running close to the Atlantic Ocean which gives the venue a links-feel. And with Portugal's Golf Federation celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, golf fans will be admitted free of charge. The total purse is €1.25m and has attracted a decent field.
