Portuguese architect and 2011 winner of Pritzker Prize Eduardo Souto Moura was honored with the 2010 Secil Award for Architecture for his House of Stories Paula Rego Museum. Located in Cascais, the project houses the works of the prestigious Portuguese painter and was designed in order to involve the existing natural elements of the museums surroundings. The building draws, in a contemporary way, on aspects of the region's historical architecture, standing out within the local landscape for its two identical pyramidal structures and its red-pigmented concrete. The Casa da Historias Paula Rego is composed by exposition areas for permanent and temporary displays and exhibits. There are also a cafe, a store and an auditorium with a capacity of 200 people.
