SOIL WITH CONVICTION
SOIL WITH CONVICTION are a set of jobs created for five dancers performers / creators belonging to a younger generation of Portuguese artists. Take the natural history of some women and strong personality of the time of the First Republic, to create from this point of view own choreographic and dramaturgical.
Are rooted in contemporary short pieces ready to inhabit gardens, gazebos, recreation spaces and outdoors.
WOMEN IN REVOLUTION
The Republic was also a construction of women who, individually and collectively, have dared to fight for ideals before, during and after the October Revolution of 1910, involving the political fight to their own claims. The Republican League of Portuguese Women (1908) and the Second Congress of Feminist and Education (1928), in a single moment, wanted a presence and make difference, building the possible future of other women.

And where?
And where? It is the title of one of the writings of Mary Veleda. This phrase represents to me, just how much women have achieved, but also how much is still needed to assume an ever more present in all fields of social life and politics.
I have focused on the figure of Mary Veleda, building a performance where his words are joined by other women of this age. It's a piece that focuses on the idea of discourse, where the body is immersed in words (which are still present). Throughout the performance the audience is becoming a participant in an event that is being built gradually, until it became public and transform the protesters.
August 21 - 19:00 | Jardim da Estrela
January 23
A performative installation that essentially part of the life and work of Mary Veleda woman pioneer in the struggle for children's education and women's rights. A photographic image in full size leaves vacant the position of Veleda, this was one of the most important leaders of the feminist movement first Portuguese. A seating arrangement for a work of real integration of body image. Texts of Mary Veleda give sound to this work.
August 28 - 19:00 | Jardim da Estrela
Veleda
Veleda Maria is the female figure who inspires this soil. Your name Mary, and their combination with the name adopted in Veleda, a warrior of Germanic origin, arouse the look on the course of this intriguing woman. A soil which part in pursuit of this transformation, this identity, this inner strength that comes from a woman whose life is a striking example of female effort in the early twentieth century. The pulsating rhythm of the bass drum accompanies this soil.
September 4 - 19:00 | Jardim da Estrela
Alone (a tribute)
The lives of Mary and Adelaide Veleda Cabete, protection of civic and ethical values, resistance, freedom, minority, struggle, frustration, wonder, pleasure, surprise, are associated with choreographic research of this soil. A body in motion and an abstract soundscape that, articulate, highlight strengths, strains, energies that are meant to express experiences of women and their condition, the time frame.
September 11 - 19:00 | Jardim da Estrela
Hill where I hold
The body of this land is the beautiful work of Maria Lamas "Women of My Country." And it's increasingly about that phrase "the hill where I hold"
What's the point of unity among all women who fought for the republican ideals. This solo act is about being a woman have in the body ideas, utopias and proposals to design, but do not know how to materialize. It is also about the disappearance of women.
