A new regional drink made from honey and arbutus, developed by a local producer with the help of the Algarve University, will be launched at this year’s Fatacil in Lagoa. The drink was created by Luís Sequeira, an arbutus producer who has been based in Silves since 1993. The new drink’s name and image has not been officially registered but its creator used a logo inspired by his two initials, LS. Luís Sequeira told Portuguese news agency Lusa that he came up with the new drink in 2007 and began tests with the help of the Algarve University.
