In Portuguese cuisine the great secret recipe is that of the Pastel de Belem, in Lisbon. Recently, the Toronto Star featured a tasty article by travel writer Sam Vincent on his recent visit to the world famous Old Bakery in Belem, to hopefully crack the secret recipe of the delicious pastry, Vincent wrote: One hour before dawn, while the rest of Lisbon sleeps, a select few indulge in culinary magic. “Doce Centro 2010” sweet on Tentúgal

The Centro Region will present Tentúgal as the "Sweet Center in 2010." From May to December 2010, in the towns of Montemor-o-Velho, Arganil, Ovar, Castelo Branco, Proença-a-Nova, and Vouzela Figueiró Wine, visitors will have the opportunity to taste delicate flavors made according to recipes that are old and traditional.  This event will promote traditional culture in the field of candy and sweets.

Borba Coop build New Winery

The new Adega de Borba winery, with an estimated investment of 11.6 million euros is set for completion  next year (by the time of the harvest). The new winery at Borba is an investment in new solutions for the environment. An area of 14 hectares will accommodate the new winery, located only 200 meters from the current building. Increases the daily processing capacity of 700 tons of grapes to 1,500 tons. And it is an investment in an even higher level of quality in all ranges of wines.

"Maestro del Espresso Junior 2010" gives 2nd place to a Portimão student

Luciano de Oliveira Junior, a student at the School of Hospitality and Tourism of Portimao, earned 2nd place in the "Junior Espresso Maestro del 2010.” This was the third consecutive time that students from the School of Hospitality and Tourism have placed second. This was the seventh edition of the competition, which brought together 30 finalists, five of whom were students of our schools. A jury composed of six elements with the mission to choose the best “Coffee Master” of Spain and Portugal evaluated participants.
