The rebirth of the Mercado do Bom Sucesso market in Porto is well under way and promises to be a new meeting point with a diversity of gourmet shops, supermarkets and the future headquarters of the Foundation Manuel Antonio da Mota, founded by the group Mota & Companhia. The Mercado Urbano aims to build a low cost hotel, and a four-star themed hotel for Meliá. Mota-Engil, through the Mercado Urbano subsidiary, will invest about ten million into the renovation of the Mercado do Bom Sucesso in Porto. The new unit will have around 80 music themed rooms, on account of the proximity of the Casa da Music hall. Construction started in late 2011.
