15 Madeiran beaches fly Blue Flags

This year the European Blue Flag Association has given Blue Flags to 15 beaches of the Madeira Archipelago. The Blue Flag is a symbol of environmental quality awarded annually to beaches and marinas that put themselves forward to be assessed against strict criteria that include water quality; environmental information and education; environmental management; and equipment, safety and services.
