Re: FOR THE BLOG asap FW: Ciclo de Cultura Judaica | 10 a 13 Março 2010 | TMG From the 10th to the 13th of March, 2010 the  Agência para a Promoção da Guarda with the support of TMG is planning a Jewish cultural Festival with talks, music and film. A Polish klezmer band, Cukunft will perform on the 13th at the Guard Cultural Theater. Guarda had in the Middle Ages a thriving Jewish community. The Jewish Quarter can still be explored in the old city of Guarda, by observing modest and rural buildings.  In the northeast edge of the Serra da Estrela Mountains, Guarda is Portugal's highest city, at 3320 feet. It was founded in 1197  as a frontier guard (hence its name).
