SATA turns a profit

SATA had a positive result in 2009. The consolidated results of the SATA Group for the year 2009 was € 1,024,805.05 - in one of the worst years ever for commercial aviation (according to IATA International Air Transport Association). Despite the crisis in the airline sector, Grupo SATA carried in 2009 and one million twelve thousand four hundred passengers, only 1.4% less than in 2008, with a load-factor of 70.5% on SATA International and 62.2% in SATA Azores - slightly lower than they were in 2008. For 2010, Grupo SATA has better operational performance and new aircraft, a fleet of Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft, turbo-propellers and the latest generation of low environmental impact, within the long-term strategy the Company's growth by increasing internationalization.Azores Photo Gallery
