SATA sees 22% growth in the first half of 2010 to the U.S

The Group recorded a consolidated growth SATA (SATA Internacional and SATA Air Açores) of 5.5% in the number of passengers carried in the first half of this year compared to same period of 2009, which equals more than 34 289 passengers. The number of flights also grew by 2.8%, or 289 flights offered.

SATA International grew by 10.2% in the number of flights, ie more than 320 flights during the first half of 2010 over the same period in 2009 and carried over 31,890 passengers, representing an increase of 8. 2% jump versus the accumulated from January to June 2009.  In terms of routes, service to the United States of America saw an increase of 22.2% in the number of passengers carried and 13.9% in the number of flights taken.

For domestic routes from Madeira, there is an increase of 13.4% in the number of passengers carried, or more than 10 312 passengers and a 0.9% increase in the number of flights. In terms of routes operated by SATA Air Azores, highlighting the routes within the Azores showing a 1.5% growth in the number of seats used, ie more than 3192 locations used in the first half of 2010 over the same period 2009.
