First Fado Festival Portimão runs the 9th to 10th of December

The Algarve's Portimão Arena will host between the 9th and 10th of December, 2011, the first Festival of Fado de Portimão, an initiative that will recreate the typical environment of the fado houses in Lisbon, with the participation of some of the greatest singers of the day. Ana Moura and Cuca Rosetta will sing on the first night of the festival, followed on 10 December by Carlos do Carmo and Carminho. And to better recreate the environment associated with fado, the festival will also count with the participation of taverns and fado houses of Alfama and Bairro Alto and Mouraria, which will be represented on the premises of the event, promoting culinary presentations as well.
