This summer, Hotel Convento de Sao Paulo, near Evora, has a new idea: be part of the process of extracting the cork.  Hotel guests do not even have to leave the property to see how they harvest the cork, since the hotel is surrounded by an immense plantation of cork oaks. Moreover, the cork extraction takes place only every nine years. But, since the Hotel Convento de Sao Paulo is within an estate of more than 600 hectares, the  extracting of the cork is annual, and guest can hike footpaths  and observe the fauna and flora of the Alentejo. the fun starts on July 23, and guests interested in it enjoy special accommodation packages, with a very special price of 135 euros per person in double room for four nights accommodation with breakfast included.
