Five towns, Paredes, Valongo, Póvoa do Lanhoso and Gondomar, joined forces to create a Gold Route. The idea is to promote a series of places for each county related to gold and create a tour package in order to promote. The route starts at the Gold Museum, in Póvoa do Lanhoso, and the gold mines of the Serra de Santa Justa in Valongo. Gold Route kicks off in April 2012
The project joins the Gold Route municipalities historically linked to gold, going back to Roman times, as well as looks at the jewelry industry today.Vitaguiar will be the project coordinator, and will draw on the infrastructure of the municipalities involved.
