In the foothills of Montejunto in the small village of Vila Nova, Artvilla opened in the summer of 2012 as a set of "cottages" that are architecturally harmonious and decorative, providing the visitor with a relaxed atmosphere. Artvilla offers the visitor the tranquility of their own country life with nature set in an environment of rare quality, refinement and quietness. Viana do Castelo will have a "chocolate hotel"

The former Avianense chocolate factory, founded in Viana do Castelo, and almost a century ago will be transformed into a hotel with 18 rooms, and an interpretive center dedicated to chocolate in 2013. The aim is to include a hotel, restaurant and Interpretation Centre of Chocolate into the old factory for one million euros. According to the city, the concept will be a "chocolate themed hotel."
