Budget Travel magazine shared a travel tip with its 500,000 readers in the new December-January issue: The Azores are a great deal. List as one of the Best Budget Travel Destinations for 2012 the magazine listed the Azores on the cover, and dedicated a full page to the nine islands. The text says: With their black-sand beaches, crater lakes, and baroque white washed 15th century churches the Azores… have drama to spare. It goes on to highlight the good package deals on SATA-Azores Express and the beach front Bahia Palace hotel.
